Racing was back at the windy Oxley Bend circuit. The juniors raced a two lap event in hot and gusty conditions. Micheal Dowsett beat his sister into first. It was Keisha Dowsett in second and Bayden McIntosh-Clinch in third.
A grade was split into two bunches. A smaller group were sent a minute up the road while the main group chased and made the catch with time to spare. Daniel Aldridge had a comfortable win followed by Glen Mahiske and Beau Harper.
The B grade bunch was a strong bunch of riders who were out for a good race. Richard Sewell made some strong attacks which toughened the race up. At the line Justin Shearer was able to get over the consistent Anthony Cross and Brett Provost.
C grade was once again dominated by Nathan Loretan who after a mechanical was able to rejoin the race and take the victory. Second was Micheal Dowsett and third Tanya Cross.
D1 saw Kurt Sadler dominate the bunch. He maintained a solo effort to the end to take the victory. In second was Zoe Dowsett and third Al Provost.
D2 turned out to be a three horse race as Peter Ramsay, Mary Frost and Sam Kerslake worked together to put time into they others in their race. Sam was able to take out a strong win followed by Peter and Mary.
Next week sees racing back at the much favoured Kolodong course for the club championships. A and C grades will race for criterium champion of 2009. Dan Aldridge will be the marked man in A grade, that is, if anyone can hold his wheel. In C grade it will be Nathan Loretan who will be in the box seat when it comes to the final sprint to the line.
