The Manning Valley Cycle Club raced at Oxley Bend on a warm and humid Wednesday afternoon. There was a strong showing of riders across all grades.
The Juniors raced 2 full laps of the Oxley Bend course. Keisha Dowsett was the eventual winner followed in second by Tom Steedman and Baxter Pattison.
A grade was a fast race with a select bunch of riders lining up for the finish. Josh Blick made a bold brake in the last lap which stuck. Dan Aldridge was first of the sprinters followed by Michael Cross.
B grade saw a changing of the guard as Jack Steedman was promoted to A grade. Daniel Crossingham showed that he was the man to beat after creating daylight between himself and the bunch as he crossed the line. Second was Gary Pearson and third Anthoney Cross.
C grade was a bunch affair with Shane Dowsett taking first followed by Sean Sadler and Don Worger.
D grade has now been split into two bunches due to some differences in riders strengths and abilities.
D1 was an exciting race from the start and was dominated by the young up and comers. On the line it was a determined David Cowley that was able to muscle his way over Kelly Nicholson followed by Stephen McInerney.
D2 saw a two person break form early with Matthew Blick and Mary Frost staying away for the remainder of the race. Blick was able to out sprint Frost with stephen Nicholson coming in third.
