Wednesday racing returned to Kolodong under ominous conditions. It was quite a dark grey sky that looked ready to bucket down at any moment. However it stayed away long enough to allow the juniors, B and D grade to race. The Junior handicap was taken out for the second time in a row by Bayden McIntosh-Clinch followed by Emma Sewell and Adrian Green. The junior handicapper will be re-assessing his marks for these three front runners as they have improved by minutes. The rest of the juniors came in quite close together making for an exciting finish to watch. Ben Cross appears to be following in his father's footsteps as he sprinted for fourth in the fast finishing bunch behind the three place getters.
D grade saw eleven riders take to the circuit for an exciting race. The finish came down to a bunch finish which was won by Bernie Flanagan-Schenieder followed by Al provost and Sean Saddler.
B grade was an aggressive race which looked as though it was an A grade bunch as it came past the start finish line. Apparently the cornering was spectacularly too. This grade also finished as a bunch with the fast finishing Dave Nixon being piped on the line by a strong finishing Anthony Cross followed closely by the consistent Ian Budden.
Unfortunately the A and C grade races were canned at just over 10 minutes of racing. The rain proved to be the deciding factor as riders showed more interest in preserving their back-sides rather than fighting a losing battle with the bitumen.
